Fall Sports Recap
This past fall the SUNY Orange Colts had five athletes who earned Mid-Hudson Conference Honors along with an athlete who competed in this years NJCAA National Tournament for XC.
For Men's Soccer there were two sophomores named to the All Mid Hudson Conference Team.
So. #11 Harrison Coard was named to the Mid-Hudson Conference First team, Harrison played in 13 matches where he was responsible for 16 points scoring seven goals and dishing out two assists. Harrison led the Colts in multiple categories, finishing first in goals, assists and points while ending his season with 19 shots taken for a shooting percentage of .368% and 12 shots on goal for a .632 shot on goal percentage.
So. Captain #10 Edwin Ortega was named to this year's Mid-Hudson Conference Second team. Ortega finished second behind Harrison Coard in total goals finishing with 4 goals scored and also recorded 2 assists for a total of 10 points.
Harrison and Edwin are two of three Sophomores who appeared in every game this season, and their leadership on the and off the field will be something Coach Tobar will look to replace next year.
Women's Volleyball caps off their amazing season with one athlete being named Co-MVP of the Mid-Hudson Conference and two additional athletes being named to the All Mid-Hudson Conference Team.
Sophomore Libero #7 Alivia Torres capped off her memorable year by being named this year's Mid-Hudson Conference Co-MVP. Alivia appeared in all 20 matches for Orange and in those matches she had a total of 25 kills on 102 attacks, 24 errors, 46 assists, and 84 points. She led the team in digs, service aces and service receptions finishing with 268 digs, 59 service aces and 390 receptions. In her two years as a Colt, the team had an overall record of 23-18 with a 19-11 record in conference play.
Sophomore Middle Hitter #5 Gabriella Dandrade was named to this year's Mid-Hudson Conference team as she finished the year as the team leader in Kills and Points. In 20 matches, Gabby recorded 140 kills on 389 attempts with 52 errors, 9 assists, 187 points, 82 digs, 26 service aces and 30 blocks. This is the second year where Gabby has finished with 120+ kills, 160+ points and 25+ blocks.
Freshman Outside Hitter #6 Lily Noteboom was also named to the Mid-Hudson Conference team. Lily finished her first year in a Colts uniform with an amazing stat-line. For the 20 matches that Lily appeared in, she recorded 69 kills on 316 attempts with 49 errors, and had a team high 300 assists with 4.05 assists per set, 122 points, 135 digs and 43 service aces.
In Cross Country, for the second year in a row SUNY Orange Colt Vincent Brooks competed in the NJCAA National meet. This year's nationals were held in Richmond, VA and Vincent finished the race with a time of 36:17.4.
