Intramurals at SUNY Orange

The Intramural Department provides opportunities for each student, faculty, or staff member to participate in a variety of wellness, fitness and sports activities. Activities are designed to accommodate all levels of skill. While most events involve competition, the Intramural program emphasizes and promotes participation, sportsmanship, social interaction, and healthy exercise.

Intramural sports and activities are planned each semester and events change seasonally. Fall semester activities may feature Indoor Soccer, Dodgeball, Badminton, and Volleyball. Spring semester activities may include Basketball, Racquetball, Whiffleball and Volleyball.

Also, available for students when open are the Pool, Racquetball Courts, and Weight Room.

Policies, Procedures, & Rules

Information such as event rules & regulations, forfeits, protests, rainouts, injuries and the like will be discussed prior to play.

Eligibility

All students (currently enrolled), faculty, and staff are eligible to participate. Athletes playing in a particular Intercollegiate sport are NOT eligible to participate in that Intramural sport.

Students are encouraged to sign up individually. Teams will be formed the first day of the event.

How to Enter Events

Entry forms for all events and activities can be obtained in the Intramural Office (Gym 2 of the PE Building).

Dates and Times

Most events are held Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am - Noon during the College's activity hour. Event schedules, times, and results can be found outside PE Gym 2.

Information

The Intramural Office is located in Gym 2 of the Physical Education Building. Events are also posted in the Recreation Display Case in the main hallway of the PE Building. Also, look for upcoming events to be posted campus-wide and on the Grapevine.
