Mary B. Diana Softball Field
This field, elected in 2009, was named after Mary B. Diana, an inaugural Colt Athletic Hall of Fame inductee for her innovation and passion for women's sports at our college and in our community.
Chris Chachis Soccer Field
This field is named after one of the original 10 faculty members on staff when Orange County Community College was founded in 1950, Chris Chachis organized the College’s first intercollegiate team (cross country) within weeks of the College’s opening and is recognized as the founder of SUNY Orange’s athletic program.
Paul Rickard Court in the Chris Schmid Gymnasium
Named after a cornerstone in Colt athletic history, the Paul Rickard court hosts our men's & women's basketball teams.
Paul Rickard was a fixture at SUNY Orange as both a professor and a coach.
He has taught as a member of the mathematics faculty since 1980. He coached the men s basketball team for 25 years (1981-82 through 2005-06), guiding the Colts to 323 wins and a handful of regional and conference championships. He retired as the golf team coach in 2014 following 32 years at the helm.
In 2006, Rickard led the Colts to a 23-8 record, a district championship and the programs first ever appearance in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II National Championship Tournament. That year, he was named the NJCAA Division II Coach of the Year in District 9.
