First double header of the season.
Sophomore Derek Sherman started the 2024 season off with an impressive display at the plate against Middlesex, going 4-for-6 with a home run, one double, five runs batted in as the Colts dropped a pair of games by scores of 15-0 and 24-6.

SUNY Orange started things off, them being the away team means they were the first up to the batter's box. This was the first time since May of 2023.
#24 Kurtis Martin was the first to hit for the Colts where they weren't able to get on base going 0-3. #11 Gabe Alfonso started on the mound for the Colts and did not get the start that he wanted as he pitched for just 2 innings before getting taken out. In those 2 innings he struck out 4 batters, walked 5 batters, gave up one home run and 8 runs off of just 6 hits. The rest of the pitchers faced the same troubles as they gave up a total of 14 hits, 15 runs and only struck out 6 batters. The Colts got handed their first loss of the season losing 15-0.
Game #2 unfortunately went just like game #1 as the Colts got swept by Middlesex in two games.
#27 Brian Saldana started on the mound in game two for the Colts where he pitched for 4 innings, struck out 5 batters, gave up 3 home runs and allowed 11 hits for a total of 12 runs.
#1 Derek Sherman had a fantastic weekend in 7 plate appearances he earned 4 hits (1 Double and 1 Homerun) and scored once for a total of 8 bases and earned one stolen base. Sherman also got hit by one pitch and struck out twice having him go 4-6 for the weekend for an On Base Percentage of .714 and a batting average of .667
