Colts vs the Riverhawks of Ann Arundel Community College
First 9 inning game the Colts played this season.
The Colts are still on the road for the start of the season and last weekend the Colts spent their weekend at Ann Arundel Community College and on Saturday March 2nd played a 9 inning game for the first time this season. In a game where the Colts found themselves down in the scoring column and were unable to get out of the hole they found themselves in as they lost to the Riverhawks by a score of 9-3.
After trailing in the first 4 innings the Colts were able to tie the score at 1 run each after a Richard Bosser single to left field that drove in Derek Sherman and advanced Brian Saldana to second base and unfortunately were unable to keep the score tied as they let up 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. In the top of inning number #5 The Colts got a chance at redemption and 2B Josh Martin started things off for the Colts earning a walk and then advanced to second base after a single up the middle from RF William Treco and both runners advanced to the next base due to a passed ball the catcher couldn't get a hold of. To continue the fifth inning success Brian Saldana singled to shortstop advancing W. Treco to third base and J. Martin scores making the score 5-2 and then after anther wild pitch from the Riverhawks and some heads up baserunning W. Treco scores and B. Saldana advances to second where unfortunately that was the last success the Colts had on the base path and scored 3 runs.
Wasn't until the bottom of the eighth the Colts were trailing 5-3 until the Riverhawks scored 4 runs to increase their score and put the game away. This will not be the last time the Colts face off against the Riverhawks as they played a double-header the following day.
