Colts vs Knights of MSMC
The Colts had their troubles against the DIII Mount Saint Mary Knights Junior Varsity team as MSMC was able to jump out to a seven to zero score by the end of the second inning of the game. Pitcher Kurtis Martin picked up the loss in the game. The right-handed relief pitcher went for two innings and surrendered four runs on five hits while not striking out any batters and walking one. Dylan was the starter for the Colts the lefty allowed 7 hits and 7 runs over one and one-third innings pitched he struck out just one batter and walked three. With a score of 16-6 the Colts moved to a record of 5-16, even though the score did not fall in the favor of the Colts there were still some highlights of the game. The Colts piled up 10 hits as a team, Derek Sherman, Josh Martin and Andrew Reda all collected multiple hits for the Colts. Martin hit the game's only triple on a line drive to deep right field driving in teammate Kurtis Martin. Sherman hit the teams only double on a line drive to center field which brought in teammate Richard Bosser where Sherman was then called out trying to advance to third. Kurtis Martin led the team with two runs batted in and with some great defensive plays the Colts managed to convert one double play along with some other acrobatic plays from the infield.
The Colts will look to bounce back facing off against the Skylanders of Sussex County on Sunday April 21st.
