Colts vs Wolves of Western Connecticut

The SUNY Orange Colts turned things up in the game against the Wolves of Western Connecticut Junior Varsity. In this game the Colts were able to jump out to a four run lead after two innings of play, it was Richard Bosser who put up the first run of the game after a sacrifice fly ball to the right fielder which had enough distance to drive in teammate Josh Martin to give them a 1-0 lead. It was Derek Sherman who increased the lead and helped increase the lead to four runs after Sherman clubbed his second home run of the year over the left field fence scoring Josh Martin and Aundre Rick. Derek Sherman now leads the team with 11 extra base hits, just one more than Josh Martin who sits at 10. After going scoreless in the 3rd inning they erupted for 7 runs in the 4th inning started from some heads up baserunning from Aundre Rick who scored on a wild pitch and after a Richard Bosser hit by pitch with the bases loaded scoring Josh Martin for the third time in the game. With the bases still loaded Andrew Reda steps up to plate for the third time in the game and smashes a three-run double to deep center field to give the Colts a 8-0 lead. Andrew Reda and Gabe Alfonso were the last to score in the 4th after a Gabe Alfonso single scored Reda from second base and a Josh Martin double to bring Alfonso around to score. 

The Colts had a great game inside the batter's box, in 33 at bats the Colts scored 13 total runs on 15 hits with 12 runs batted in the Colt also struck out 8 total times as a team. 

William Treco started on the mound for the Colts. The right handed pitcher threw for 3.0 innings facing off against 13 batters and allowing just 2 hits while striking out just 1 batter. Cole Broughton earned his first win of the year, the right handed relief pitcher threw for 2.1 innings allowing 4 hits and giving up 3 runs on 13 batters faced. Cole struck out two batters and walked one. Gabe Alfonso closed out the game for the Colts pitching 1.2 innings facing off against 12 batters giving up 3 runs on 3 hits while striking out 3 batters and walking one.
