Region XV Tournament
The Colt suffer back-to-back losses to the Vikings of Westchester and the Hawks of Rockland Community College.

On Sunday May 11th the SUNY Orange Colts played in the 2025 NJCAA Region XV Tournament, first taking on the Vikings of Westchester Community College followed by the Hawks of Rockland County Community College.
The Colts jumped out to an early lead after #30 Ronnie Anzovino smashed a high fly ball deep into right field for a three run homerun. This was Anzovino's first hit of the game and his second collegiate home run and gave the Colts a 3-0 lead over the defending Region XV Champions. The Vikings were able to tie the game in the bottom of the third and would soon gain the advantage in the bottom of the fifth inning with a 4-3 lead.
After scoring three runs in the second inning the Colts were held scoreless until the top of the ninth inning after Michael Fontaine hit a hardgroundball to score a run and advance runners into scoring position. Kody Best took the loss for the Colts, the starter went six and two-thirds innings. Allowing seven runs on ten hits, Best struckout four batters and walked three. The Colts had success inside the batters box, tallying 11 hits as a team. Ronnie Anzovino led the way with three runs batted in from the #8 spot in the lineup. The left handed outfielder went two-for-four. Brian Saldana and Matt Nixon also collected two hits for the Colts.
The Colts will take on the Hawks of Rockland County Community College in a win or go home situation for SUNY Orange.
After a high scoring semi-finals match-up the Colts were left on the wrong side of a 10-9 walk-off victory. Trailing 9-8 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Rockland's #27 singled scoring the final two runs of the game.
Despite the loss, the Colts collected 15 hits in the high-scoring affair, in this game the Colts were held scoreless through the first five innings until Dylan Williams and Jacob Morino both singled to the outfield driving in a run. The Hawks turned the game around in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring five runs on five hits.
In the top of the eighth inning the Colts regained their lead after scoring six runs on four hits. To start things off Jacob Morino singles on the first pitch he sees, next up to the plate is #14 Phillip Scuderi. With a full count P. Scuderi smashes a high fly ball deep to right field for his first collegiate home run. With the score standing at 8-5, there is one out and runners on first and second #5 Jadin O'Neil singles on a line drive to right field bringing in two runs to cut the lead down to just one run.
With runners on first and just one out power hitter Jonas Kerzner was given the green light and did not let it go to waste. In a hit-and-run situation Jonas smashed a line drive to right field for an RBI double to tie the game at 8-8. AJ Grant would soon cap off this successful half inning after hitting a groundball to the third baseman and reaching on an error, scoring one run.
Brian Saldana takes the loss for the Colts. The right-handed pitcher threw for 4.1 innings, allowing three runs on ten hits, striking out two batters and walking one. Evan Johnson started on the mound, the lefty starter gave up two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out one and walking three.
The Colts collected 15 hits in the game. Jake Morino and Jonas Kerzner each collected three hits for the Colts. Jadin O'Neil and Phillip Scuderi each drove in two runs, AJ Grant and Dylan Williams collected multiple hits for SUNY Orange. The Colts had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game with Michael Fontaine and Jackson Atwell each drawing two walks. The Colts stole four bases and turned two double plays on the defensive end.
With this loss the Colts conclude their 2025 season with a record of 10-23.
