Colts vs Vikings of Mercer County
The SUNY Orange Colts took on the Vikings from Mercer, Marquis Gill was able to start things off after an easy 3 pointer to give the Colts their first basket of the game. The whole game neither team seemed to find an advantage on the scoreboard as the score was neck and neck throughout the entire game.With the end of the game approaching George Patsalos was able to give the Colts the one point lead after a huge basket with less than 30 seconds left on the clock to make the score 61-60. Along with the clutch shot to give the Colts the lead two defensive plays from Daniel Lans and Marquis Gill who eached grabbed a steal which led to foul shots on the other end to increase their lead. After making 3 out of the last 4 foul shots Mercer was able to get off one last shot but with them down by 4 points they needed a miracle to win the game.
With a 64-63 win the Colts secured their 8th win in a row and will look to make it 9 tomorrow as they take on Bryant & Stratton Albany
Freshman, #2 Mat Shea (Wallkill, NY) was the second highest scorer of tonight's game and recorded his third double-double of the season. Shea finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and also came along with a steal, a block and an assist.
Sophomore, #4 Daniel Lans (Spring Valley, NY) finished as tonight's leading scorer as he finished with 16 points while shooting 63%. Lans also finished with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, one of them including a clutch steal to increase the lead late in the game.
Sophomore, #24 George Patsalos (New Windsor, NY) was another key contributor to tonight's game as he scored 8 points and came down with 9 rebounds and dished out 2 assists.
