Colts defeat Broncos after a 76 POINT HALF
- Middletown NY,
On Thursday January 9th the SUNY Orange Colts defeated the Broncos of Bronx Community College in dominating fashion. To start of the game it was the Broncos who were able to score the game first points until the Colts managed to secure their first two points after Jabari Phillip was able to draw the foul and go 2-2 from the free throw line to start his night. The Colts quickly were able to earn their first lead of the game after a long three pointer from So. Guard Marquis Gill coming off a great look from teammate Daniel Lans to make the score 5-4. For the first five minutes of the game there was a back and fourth affair with both teams trading threes and due to their high intensity, fast moving play-style the Broncos were forced to call their first timeout as the score stood at 9 points each.
Coming out of the timeout break, SUNY Orange started right where they left off scoring two quick baskets to force another Broncos timeout shortly after taking their first. With a 14-9 lead the Colts focused on playing smart basketball and not allowing the Broncos to come back before halftime. The Colts did just that as they were able to hold on to a 10 point lead going into halftime as the score stood at 40-30. Fr. Forward #22 Jabari Phillip had a great start to the first half being responsible for 12 out of the first 21 points scored by SUNY Orange.

Despite reaching their largest lead the Colts were not satisfied with the score as they would go on and outscore the Broncos 76-26 with a final score of 116-56.
