Colts Overpower Vikings in Region XV Opener
Middletown, N.Y. - The nationally 20th-ranked SUNY Orange men's basketball opened Mid-Hudson Conference and Region XV play with a 91-77 win over visiting Westchester Community College Tuesday night. The Colts improve to 5-0 on the season as the Vikings drop to 3-5.
Sophomore Keishawn Morris (Brooklyn, NY / South Shore) and freshman Anthony Pacciarelli (Monroe, NY / St. Joseph) led the Colts with 21 points a piece. Morris was an efficient 8-15 from the field and 3-8 from three-point distance, while Pacciarelli rounded out a double-double with 12 rebounds.
Westchester was led by sophomore guards Tarik Dacosta and Tiziah Spears who scored 20 and 19 points respectively.
Darren McFarlane (Bronx, NY/ Monsignor Scanlan) continued his hot start to the season, recording the second Colts double-double of the night, finishing with 16 points with 11 rebounds.
The Colts countered the chaotic Vikings defense with an unselfish offensive attack, assisting on 20 of the teams 36 field goals. As a team the Colts shot 46.8% from the field.
The Colts are back in action Thursday, November 20, as they travel to face Ulster County Community College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
