Middletown, N.Y. - The SUNY Orange men's basketball team defeated the LaGuardia Red Hawks 108-55 on Saturday. The Colts improve to 7-0, the Red Hawks drop to 1-7.
Freshman Anthony Pacciarelli (Monroe, N.Y./St. Joseph) delivered an impressive performance, scoring 29 points while adding three rebounds, one assist, and three steals. Going 8-11 from the three-point range, Pacciarelli is now tied for fourth in program history for most three-pointers made in a single game.
Sophomore Darren McFarlane (Bronx, N.Y./Monsignor Scanlan) chipped in 16 points while recording a double-double with 11 rebounds.
The Colts jumped out to an early 10-0 lead within the first four minutes of the game. SUNY Orange maintained intense pressure throughout the first half, forcing 15 LaGuardia turnovers to take a 54-27 advantage into the break.
SUNY Orange continued their dominant performance throughout the second half outscoring the Red Hawks 54-28.
Up next, the Colts are back on the road to face Rockland Community College Tuesday, November 25. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
