Colts vs Monroe Express
A rough first half led to the Colts loss.
The Colts traveled to New Rochelle to take on Monroe Express, a team who the Colts have not defeated and have an all-time 0-6 record against since Monroe first started their team back in 2017. Each time these two teams have played each other the Colts have had the honor of hosting the game and being the Home team and have been unsuccessful as they look to turn the tide and disappoint their opponent at their home field for the very first time.
To start off the game Monroe Express showed relentless pressure as they were able to score three unanswered goals with just over 10 minutes of play that went by and after about 15 minutes of play Monroe Express scored three more unanswered goals all within 4 minutes of each other and were able to score one more goal before the end of the half giving them a 7-0 lead after the first half of play. In the first half the Colts let their frustration get the best of them and committed four fouls. While on the defensive side goalkeeper Ebani Rugerio was going all he can inside of the net along with he defense, through 23 shots that Monroe was able to get off 6 shots that ended up missing wide right or left, 1 shot that missed high, there were 5 shots that were blocked by a SUNY Orange defender and 4 shots saved from the goalkeeper including a penalty kick in 22:38 minute to hype up his team in the biggest way.
After the first half the Colts as they were unable to get a shot off in the first half and it took them just three minutes in the second before Harrison Coard was able to get off the first shot of the game that was unfortunately blocked by a defender and it wasn't until the 62nd minute that the Colts were able to score their first goal of the game coming from the freshman midfielder #8 Jonathan Santos to give him his first goal of his career and soon after decided to share the moment with a teammate as he recorded his first assist of the game and his career after a great pass to sophomore #11 Harrison Coard who scored his first of the game and 4th now on the season. The Colts were able to score a total of three unanswered goals from Santos, Coard and the third being freshman #5 Nickolas Ivanov who scored his first goal of the season assisted by Angel Carcamo to cut the lead down to five goals with a score of 3-8. Later on in the game neither team was able to find the back of the net until #5 Nickolas Ivanov scored his second goal of the game assisted by Jonathan Santos.

The Colts would go on to lose this game by a score of 8-4 and fall to an 0-2 record to start out the season. The Colts will have just one day to regroup as they face off against #6 ranked Ulster County on Thursday September 12th for the Colts home opener, kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM @ Orange County Community College.
