The SUNY Orange Colts took on the Vikings of Westchester on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in Middletown. Starting off the game it was the Vikings who were able to get things going early as they were first to score, netting a goal just inside the 10 minute marker to make the score 1-0. Soon after, the Vikings were able to put in a second score around the 16:30 mark to give the Vikings a 2-0 lead in the game. For the remainder of the first half neither team was able to produce much offense as both defenses were blocking and defending opposing shots extremely well. The Colts managed to get a few opportunities, but were unable to get a clean shot on net.
In the second half the Colts were showing a lot of grit and hard work and did not let the VIkings get any opportunities on the offensive end while newcomer #4 Ricardo Arias quickly made a name for himself as he scored the first goal for the Colts in the game after beating multiple defenders in a foot race to the ball. Arias was able to sneak one past the goalkeeper for his first goal of his collegiate career and the first goal of the game for the SUNY Orange Colts to make the score 2-1. The Colts added forward #4 Arias to the team this week after he earned himself a spot in the starting lineup after just three days of practice with his new team. The Vikings would later put the game away after scoring their third and final goal late in the second half and would go on to win the game 3-1.
The Colts will be hosting the Lions of Nassau County Community College on Saturday September 28th at 12:00.
