Colts Tie the Falcons of Dutchess County
The SUNY Orange Colts traveled to Dutchess County to take on the Falcons for a Thursday afternoon showdown. In what was a wild first half with 8 goals scored between both teams and 0 goals scored in the second half.
The Falcons were able to score first early in the first half just 7:30 seconds into the game before the Colts quickly responded with a goal of their own after a great pass from Jonathan Santos to set up Ricardo Arias for an easy finish to tie the game at one goal a piece. Shortly after the Colts were able to gain an advantage and earn their first lead of the game after Mark Youssef was able to put one in the back of the net in the 13th minutes coming from teammate Harrison Coard who set him up for the finish. With relentless pressure from the Falcons they quickly were able to earn their lead back after scoring back to back goals within 2 minutes of each other before Colt Captain Edwin Ortega put an end to their scoring success and put one of his own in the back of the net to make it 3-3 after another great pass from Jonathan Santos giving him his second assist of the game. The last goal scored came from Christian Laguerre-Morin to tie the game at 4-4 before the end of the first half.
In a back and forth match between two teams who will do whatever it takes to win, neither team was able to get the better of one another as it would end in a 4-4 tie.
As a team the Colts took 25 shots and had 11 shots on goal, #4 Ricardo Arias scored his second goal of the season taking 6 shots with 6 shots on goal.
#10 Edwin Ortega scored his second goal of the season taking four shots and had 2 shots on goal.
#17 Christian Laguerre-Morin scored his second goal of the year, taking just two shots with one shot on goal.
#18 Mark Youssef scored his first goal of the season and his first goal in a Colts uniform, Mark took just 3 shots with 2 shots on goal.
Jonathan Santos (2), Harrison Coard, Christian Contento all recorded an assist in the game.
