SUNY Orange Colts Softball Preseason.
Get to know the SUNY Orange women's softball team!
This years women's softball team consists of four returners from last years team and have also added 9 freshman to the squad. The team will look to secure their first win of the season when they open against Monroe-Bronx Express in a double header on March 12th starting at 3:00. There are 4 freshman on the roster who bring pretty impressive resumes as they have earned accolades over the years and look to contnue their success in a SUNY Orange uniform. #23 Caroline Farrell from Chester NY, finished up her senior year earned a spot on the 2022 All-Section. She plays both catcher and the outfield. Farrel is a versitile athlete who can help on all aspects of the field. #11 Makayla Mason from Lagrangeville and played at Arlington High school brought with her a bunch of accomplishments. Mason was a two time sportmanship winner, Winner of the Charlie Johnson Award (Since 2001, thousands of Arlington students have learned the story of Charlie Johnson. Arlington High School continues to honor students who emulate eight character traits that Charlie embodied: loyalty, brotherhood, selflessness, courage, compassion, responsibility, patriotism, and integrity.) Mason will be playing the 3rd base position this year and will need to be at the top of her game playing a very hard position. #9 Lindsay Keane from Goshen, NY and played for Goshen Highschool where she recieved a presidential scholarship here at SUNY Orange and was a 2 time Coach's Award winner for Goshen Highschool. Keane will alternate between positions playing both first base and behind the plate in the cather position. Last but not least #24 Gianna Catletti from Middletown, NY where she played for Minisink Valley and during her time there she was nammed Minisink Valley MVP of the team, All-selection 2022 team and was named Class A 5th Team All-State in the Pitcher position. For SUNY Orange Catletti will be alternating through first base and on the mound pitching where she looks to continue on her journey and lead SUNY Orange to victory.
