Colts vs Knights of Rhode Island

The SUNY Orange Colts took on the Lady Knights from Rhode Island Community College for a Sunday afternoon double header. Going into the game the Knights had a record of 9 wins and 0 losses and the Colts have a record of 9 wins and 7 losses and the Colts have played more games up to this point of the season. In game number one both teams seemed ass if they were having trouble scoring runs as neither team was able to put points on the board until the 3rd inning where both teams were able to score 2 runs for an even score of 2-2 and through the first 5 innings of the game the score is still tied at 3-3 and it wasn't until the 7th inning of the game where it was the Lady Knights who were able to take advantage of the Colts in the first game and secured the win with a final score of 8-3. Jaylee Ramos, Molly Martin and Julia Sorrentino all recorded doubles in the game as they each smashed the ball deep into right center field. 

The second game was much like the first as neither team was able to gain the edge on one another until it came close to the end of the game. Trailing by just three runs after 5 innings of play the Colts looked to turn things around and finish off the game with a win against what might be one of their toughest matchup they have seen all year. With a final score of 10-5 the Colts fell short and lost both games against the Knights of Rhode Island. Aside from the off night, Caroline Farrell recorded an RBI double in the game. Gianna Catletti smashed her second HR of the year, Nicole Imhoff also clubbed her first career HR deep into center field driving in two RBI's and finishing the game batting 1.000 going 2-2 with 2 hits and 2 walks. 

The Colts take on the Mustangs from Monroe College on Tuesday April 9th for a non conference double header starting at 3:30 PM EST at the Mary B. Diana Softball field at Orange County Community College.
