Mid Season Recap
Through the first half of the season the Colts have a record of 10 wins and 10 losses with a 5-3 record at home. The first half of the year was a bumpy ride filled with tons of ups and downs and with the Colts at a record of 5-7 after losing four consecutive games they knew they needed to turn things around if they wanted to play in this year's postseason. The Colts put a stop to their losing streak and defeated back to back opponents in Sussex County Community College and Bergen College, in those four games the Colts had 93 at bats and 37 hits for a team average of .398 and a total of 35 RBI's. Throughout those 4 games the pitching was astounding as the Colt pitchers pitched for a total of 24 innings in four games while only allowing 23 hits and striking out 34 batters for 12 total runs. Unfortunately the Colts were unable to continue their success after having two games canceled due to inclement weather which halted the Colts from playing for 10 days and when it was finally time to come back and play the momentum that they once had faded and lost back to back games against Community College of Rhode Island.
With a record of 9-9 they faced off against the Mustangs of Monroe College and had a two game split winning the first game 11-3 and losing the second 5-2 giving them a record of 10-10. Through almost 500 at bats (498) the Colts have accumulated a .317 Batting Average, 157 Total Hits, 98 Runs Batted In and struck out 70 times in the first 20 games of the season.
Since the start of the season there have been a few stand out athletes who really proved they deserved to be wearing a Colts uniform. There have been five athletes who have played in every game that the Colts have played, Gianna Catletti, Lindsay Keane, Gabriella Olivo, Jaylee Ramos and Molly Martin have paved the way and are huge contributors to each game. Those five athletes are responsible for 98 of the 157 Hits, 56 of the 98 Runs Batted In, 47 of the 103 Walks and and just 20 of the 70 strikeouts that the team has accumulated.
Thus far the Colts have just 3 total home runs coming from the likes of Gianna Catletti (2) and Nicole Imhoff (1).
Lindsay Keane leads the team with the most Extra Base Hits with a total of 7 all of which were hits extended for a double. Tied for most total bases.
Gabriella Olivo leads the team with 22 total runs scored. Is one of two players to record a triple.
Dawn Grover leads the team in stolen bases and is one of two players to record a triple.
Gianna Catletti leads the team in Hits, RBI, Batting Average, Home Runs and is tied for most total bases at 32. Also has a winning record of 5 wins and 3 losses while inside the pitching circle.
