Colts vs Sharks of Suffolk County

This past weekend the Colts traveled to Suffolk Long Island to take on the Sharks from Suffolk County and in two games the Colts scored 32 runs to the Sharks 12. In what was a beautiful Saturday afternoon the Colts started off slow as they only scored 2 runs in the first 3 innings and then managed to score 9 runs in the 4th and 5th inning finishing the game with 11 runs on 12 hits. The Colts were not shy inside of the batters box tallying 9 total doubles and 9 runs batted in. Gianna Catletti (2), Gabriella Olivo (2), Dawn Grover (2), Lindsay Keane (2), Molly Martin all recorded a double in the game. There were 5 different batters who recorded an RBI, Gabriella Olivo (3), Gianna Catletti (2), Molly Martin (2), Dawn Grover (2), Nicole Imhoff and Lindsay Keane.

Pitcher Gianna Catletti earned her 6th win on the year standing at a current record of 6 wins and 3 losses. In Game #1 Catletti faced off against 19 batters pitching 43 pitches while striking out 3 batters and allowing only 3 hits for the entirety of the game. 

In game two the Colts took care of business and only needed 11 of the 14 innings to defeat the Sharks. Game two was much like the first as they won 21-12. To start off the game the Colts continued their success from the first game and scored 4 runs in both the first and second inning but after allowing 7 runs in the bottom of the second inning the Colts stood with a one run lead and knew they needed to score again in order to keep the game close. Scoring just 2 runs in the top of the third was not enough to keep their lead as the Sharks managed to score 4 runs in the 3rd inning giving them their first lead of the series. After allowing 11 runs in two innings the Colts did not like the feeling of being down in the scoring column and managed to score 8 runs in the 4th inning and scored 3 more before the game was finished.  Their were four different Colts who recorded a double (Molly Martin, Gianna Catletti, Dawn Grover and Lindsay Keane) and eight different Colts who recorded an RBI (Gianna Catletti (6), Caroline Farrell (3), Molly Martin (2), Madeline Brennan (2), Lindsay Keane (2) Nicole Imhoff (2) Dawn Grover and Jaylee Ramos)

Pitcher Molly Martin started the game off facing off against 32 batters throwing 79 pitches while allowing 10 hits and 11 runs while striking out 4 batters. Molly pitched for 3.1 innings before teammate Gianna Catletti filled in for the remaining innings. Catletti faced off against 9 total batters throwing a total of 35 pitches. Catletti struck out 5 batters and allowed 1 hit and 1 run.

Gianna Catletti finished with 9 At Bats for 7 Hits, 3 doubles, 1 Homerun and 8 Runs Batted In.

Lindsay Keane finished with 9 At Bats for 4 hits, 3 doubles and 3 Runs Batted In.

Dawn Grover finished with 6 At Bats for 4 hits, 3 doubles and 3 Runs Batted In.
