Colts vs Dutchess Community College Falcons

Yesterday the SUNY Orange Colts took on the Falcons from Dutchess County Community College for a Monday afternoon away game for the Colts. The Colts went out to an early lead in the top of the very first inning Gabriella Olivo started things off by getting hit by a pitch in her first at bat and then stealing second base shortly after. Dawn Grover drove in the first run of the game singling on a line drive to center field bringing in Olivo to bring the score to 1-0 and the scoring spree began shortly after as the Colts scored 10 runs in the first inning alone as there was a 2 run homerun from Gianna Catletti, 5 RBI singles, 2 RBI doubles and one ground out that resulted in a run scoring. After a fantastic first inning the Colts did not let their foot off of the gas as they scored 21 runs in the last 4 innings of the game to make it a score of 31-0. In five innings of play the Colts accumulated 33 hits in 43 at bats for a .767 team batting average. There were three athletes who had 5+ hits, Catletti (5/5), Ramos (5/5) and Martin (5/6). Both Molly Martin and Gianna Catletti set season highs as they both racked up 8 RBI's, along with Martin and Catletti all of the Colt batters earned an RBI for a total of 31 runs batted in and five having 3+ in the game (Gianna Catletti (8), Molly Martin (8), Dawn Grover (4), Lindsay Keane (3), Jaylee Ramos (3), Gabriella Olivo (2), Nicole Imhoff, Julia Sorrentino and Caroline Farrell). There were three balls smashed over the fence for a home run coming from Gianna Catletti who smashed two two-run home runs one over the center field in the very first inning and then in the 5th inning driving in the last runs the Colts scored for the game she now has 5 Homeruns on the season. Molly Martin also clubbed the ball deep into center field for a 3-run homerun. This is Martin's first one of the year and the second of her college career.
Just like game number one the Colts jumped out to an early lead again coming from Dawn Grover scoring one run and Gianna Catletti also scoring one run coming from a single which was shortly followed by a Lindsay Keane line drive 2-run homerun over the right field fence. The Colts accumulated 16 hits in the win, Gianna Catletti finished her second game in a row batting 1.000 going 9/9 in two games. Molly Martin, Lindsay Keane, Gabriella Olivo, Dawn Grover, Nicole Imhoff and Gianna Catletti all collected multiple hits for a total of 7 RBI's. The Colts scored 8 runs to the Falcons 0 giving them their 16th win of the year. Lindsay Keane earns her second career home run, Gianna Catletti collected her first triple of the year and there were 5 athletes who earned an RBI (Catletti (3), Keane (2), Martin, Grover and Farrell
Pitcher Madeline Brennan pitched in both games and earned the win pitching the entirety of both games only allowing 2 hits and 10 strikeouts in the 10.0 innings pitched. This is Brennan's 3rd and 4th appearance on the pitchers mound and she has allowed 0 earned runs for an astounding 0.00 ERA. Also in game two Brennan pitched the teams second no hitter of the season and Brennan's first career no hitter as a pitcher.
