Colts vs Centurions of Bucks County
The Colts traveled to Bucks County to take on the Centurions for their second matchup of the year, in the first meeting the Colts won both games by a score of 5-1 and 10-0.
In this game the Colts jumped out and scored the first points on the board coming from Gianna Catletti who hit a solo home run to left field to ignite the Colts. Bucks County soon took the lead in the bottom of the first making the score 2-1, the Colts would then prevent Bucks County from scoring for the remainder of the game. After going scoreless in the second inning the Colts completely turned the game upside down scoring five runs on six hits to take a 6-2 lead. Nicole Imhoff was the main threat of the inning as she hit a two run double to break this game wide open. The Colts would then score six more runs in the top of the sixth inning to give them a 10 run lead making the score 12-2, Jaylee Ramos was the first one to drive in a run as she singled on a fly ball to left field bringing in Madeline Brennan from second base. Nicole Imhoff and Gabriella Olivo each recorded a double in the 6th inning each driving in one run and it was Gianna Catletti hitting her second home run of the game driving in runners from second and first for a three-run-homerun.
The Colts had a great game inside the batter's box finishing with 12 runs on 17 hits with 11 runs batted in and the Colts earned their 29th win on the season. Gianna Catletti, Jaylee Ramos and Lindsay Keane all finished with 3 hits in 4 attempts and Madeline Brennan finished with a perfect 3/3 earning a hit in every at bat. There were seven extra base hits from five different athletes, there were 4 doubles and 2 homeruns. Gabriella Olivo, Nicole Imhoff (2), Jaylee Ramos and Lindsay Keane each recorded a double and Gianna Catletti had the teams only home runs of the game as she now has 10 on the year.
Gianna Catletti also earned the win on the pitcher's mound giving up two runs on just seven hits within 6 innings pitched. The right hander faced 24 batters and struck out 9 and walked one. This is her 13th win on the year with a record of 13-4
Game two was much like the first as the Colts dismantled the Bucks shutting them out with a score of 13-0 and it was the Colts who scored first in another emphatic way. Lindsay Keane was the first to score for the Colts coming from a deep fly ball over the center field fence for her 4th home run of the year. The Colts would then score in 4 out of 5 innings played and after going scoreless in inning number two they would score 11 runs in three innings. The Colts scored six runs in five hits in the top of the fourth inning which was full of action as the Colts scored in almost every fashion. Gabriella Olivo drew a walk with the bases loaded to draw in a run, Nicole Imhoff singled which scored a run, Dawn Grover smashed a double scoring one run and Madeline Brennan hit her first triple of her career scoring three runs while doing so just one base away from the grand slam. The Colts collected 12 hits in the game and scored 13 runs while walking 7 times and striking out only 3. A great game inside the batter's box for the Colts with five recorded extra base hits coming from Caroline Farrell, Gianna Catletti and Dawn Grover who each recorded a double. Madeline Brennan recorded the teams only triple and Lindsay Keane recorded the teams only home run of the game. Molly Martin earns her 9th win of the year giving her a record of 9-7. The right-handed starting pitcher allowed just two hits and zero runs in five innings pitched. She faced off against 18 batters striking out half of them as she finished with 9 strikeouts and just one walked batter.
The Colts will now enter the postseason as they take on Potomac State to play in the Region 20 Softball Tournament this Saturday.
