Colts vs #10 Knights of CCRI
Middletown NY - On Sat. December 7th the SUNY Orange Colts hosted the #10 ranked team in the NJCAA DIII Women's Basketball the Knights from Community College of Rhode Island. From the start of this highly anticipated match-up the Knights came out and scored the first points of the game. SUNY Orange soon followed scoring their first points of the game coming from an Adriana Vazquez heads up steal that led to an easy layup on the other end. Coach Micah Brand called his first timeout with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter looking to put some fresh legs in and get his starters a much needed breather so they can come out of the timeout and finish the rest of the first quarter strong. Being outscored 24-11 the Colts had troubles maintaining the ball on the offensive end and seemed to have a tough time stopping the Knights from finding open shots.
After 20 minutes of play the Colts found themselves trailing 41-25 going into the second half. In the first half of the game both teams seemed to have troubles staying out of foul trouble with almost 20 fouls called. The second quarter of contest was much the most competitive of the four quarters as the Colts were outscored by just three points scoring 14 points to the Knights 17.
Coming out of the locker-room after halftime the Colts looked to earn their first lead of the game after trailing 16 points going into the last half they need a find a way to push through with some adversity and finish the game out strong.
Wrapping up half number two the Colts were in a battle against themselves and the Knights, seemingly unable to find an answer for the Knights offense. Scoring 16 points to the Knights 36 the Colts suffer their sixth loss on the year losing 77-41, throughout the game the Colts had a hard time defending the long ball shot by CCRI. The Colts allowed their opponent to score on 53% of three pointers that were taken, despite this game this is just the second time in which the Colts have allowed their opponent to score on 50% of their shots taken. This far the Colts have held their opponent to below a 50% shooting percentage, after holding the Knights to a percentage of 44.4% the Colts now have seven games in a row holding their opponent below 50%.

The SUNY Orange Colts are pleased to have sisters on their team. Victoria and Olivia Harrison finished the game as the two highest scorers for the Colts and is the second time this season where they both have finished with +10 points.
So. Guard #23 Victoria Harrison led the way for the Colts scoring 12 points on 5/17 shooting while grabbing five rebounds and coming away with four steals. Harrison was one of two athletes who finished with a three pointer made as she went 1/2 from behind the arc.
Fr. Forward Olivia Harrison fell just one point behind her sister as Olivia finished with 11 points scored on 5/11 shooting. Olivia also grabbed a team high 10 rebounds while also coming away with three steals. This is the second time this season that Olivia has finished the game with a ''Double-Double" she now leads the team in total double-doubles.
The Colts are on the road for their next scheduled contest as they take on the Panthers from Borough Of Manhattan Community College on Tuesday Dec. 10th at 5:00 P.M
