Sophomore Night!

On Thursday October 10th the Colts took on the Vikings of Hudson Valley Community College. This was the Colts sophomore night, honoring three student athletes who have givin their all and pushed through when times got tough. Sophomore's #5 Gabriella Dandrade, #7 Alivia Torres and #9 Emily Deserto.

#5 Gabriella Dandrade has appeared in 30 matches for a total 111 sets. The middle hitter from Middletown has 206 kills, 22 assists, 274.5 points and 48 total blocks.

 #7 Alivia Torres has appeared in 31 matches for 117 sets. The Libero from Pine Bush has 41 kills, 53 assists, 121 points, 500 digs and 113 service aces thus far.

 #9 Emily Deserto who has appeared in 34 matches for 132 sets. The outside hitter out of Goshen has 119 kills, 264 assists and 188 points.

This match against the Vikings the Colts was one to remember as for the first time this season the Colts went to set number five on their home court, after a hot start the Colts won set one by a score of 25-17. The second set took a turn for the worse as the Vikings managed to secure set number two winning 25-19. 

In the third set neither team was letting it end in a back and fourth set where the Colts eneded up getting the better of the Vikings winning 26-24 

Set number four the Colts would fall the the Vikings 25-16 after winnings two sets the Vikings even the score with two set victories of their own. In the 5th and final set the Colts unfortunately were unable to secure the victory and lose to the Vikings 3-2 after a final score of 15-9 in the 5th set. 

#5 Gabriella Dandrade finished the game behind her teammate for most kills as she finished with 7 kills and added one service ace and 9.5 points.

#6 Lily Noteboom is now on an 8 game streak where she has finished with 10+ assists, Noteboom added 6 kills, 10 digs 1 block and 8 points.

#9 Araceli Ospina finished the match as the team leader in kills and points. Ospina finished with 12 kills, 7 assists, 6 service aces and 18 points.
